How do clear aligners work?
Clear teeth aligners, like the popular Invisalign® system, offer a discreet and effective mode of orthodontic care. These aligners use custom, durable plastic molds made just for you that gently guide your teeth into a straighter, healthier smile. Patients receive new aligners every few weeks, getting closer to their desired smile each time
What do aligners do?
Teeth aligners are a versatile treatment option for various orthodontic issues for adults, teens and children. Depending on the patient’s age and preferences, we can use these “invisible braces” to treat almost everything traditional braces can. When you arrive for your complimentary initial consultation, we’ll help you identify any outstanding issues to determine if you’re a good fit for clear aligners.
At Mik Ortho, we treat patients with clear aligners for various teeth and jaw issues, including:
Each clear aligner set is made especially for your teeth, and many patients enjoy their personalized fit and comfort.
Cleaning your teeth and appliances is crucial for all orthodontic treatments. You can remove and individually clean your aligners, making it easy to maintain proper oral hygiene.
Though we don’t recommend removing your aligners for more than two hours daily, you may take them out whenever you eat or smile for a picture.
The length of your treatment will depend on your unique case and desired outcome, but you can see results in as little as six months with proper care and attention.
Clear aligners vs. braces
Our technology-driven process offers benefits that make the whole “braces experience” much easier for patients!
You’ve probably heard wearing braces is a long-term commitment, taking two years on average. While that may be true of traditional orthodontic treatments, it’s not true for clear aligners. Using sophisticated 3-D imaging and treatment planning, we can reduce treatment times compared to braces.
Clear aligners also don’t have the discomforts associated with braces! Simply pop the aligners on and off as needed. However, we recommend you wear your aligners for at least 22 hours daily for best results.
